Natural, relaxed, Yorkshire based wedding photographer
Hi, I’m Steph White and I am a Leeds based, natural style documentary wedding photographer. I also offer pre-wedding photography, along with family, portrait plus a photobooth service. I work across the Yorkshire region including Leeds, Harrogate, York, Wakefield and Sheffield, but I have also been known to travel further afield too.
I love photography, in particular ‘people’ photography. I enjoy documenting situations as they happen, with very little input from me.
My relaxed, informal style of wedding photography is very unobtrusive, I let your day unfold as it happens. I can provide a little direction for a few group photos to be included if you wish, but I mainly work as an observer. Even with the group shots, I don’t make them too formal, we have a giggle and keep things fun.
I believe the way I work puts you at ease, you will hardly know I am there after a little while. You can enjoy your wedding day with your nearest and dearest without worrying about having to pose for too many staged photographs, in the knowledge that I will be capturing the important, special moments without getting under your feet. Capturing the fun, excitement and emotion of your wedding is my aim. I want to tell your story.
To be part of your special day is such an honour. Prior to booking, I am very happy to meet you in person for an informal chat. You are more than welcome to visit me in Horsforth, Leeds, where I have my full selection of examples to show you, or if you’d prefer, we can meet for coffee locally or even at your venue. I love to hear all about your plans.
A little about me
I live in Horsforth, Leeds with my gorgeous three year old son and lovely husband John, who is my rock. John was the one who encouraged me to jump in feet first and pursue my dream job as a wedding photographer. I have never looked back!
I studied media at University back in 2003, and this is where I first found my passion for photography. However upon graduating, my career led me down a marketing and events route. I never gave up on the photography however, and through photographing in my spare time, I realised that people have always been my favourite subjects. Capturing the everyday, telling a story through images, is what I love to do the most. And what better story is there than a love story? Wedding photography is my calling.
Having a little one at home lets me work my hours around him. It often means I respond to emails at odd times, and my ‘weekends’ tend to take place on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, but it works for us, and we have never been happier!
Outside of wedding photography, we travel as often as we can and I also have a passion for live music. These interests often seep through into my work, you’ll often see a travel or gig pic or two over on my Instagram feed. Also be warned, if you’re having a band play your wedding, I may need some encouragement to leave on time. Just give me a nudge, I do go home eventually!
It’s been nearly six years since I took my first wedding booking, and now my spring and summer weekends (and autumn and winter are gaining popularity too – in fact my first wedding was a winter wedding) are now spent working with fabulous clients throughout the gorgeous venues and locations throughout Yorkshire. Trying not to sound cliche, it really is the best job in the world – I get to meet so many lovely people, and share the happiest day of their lives with them. Who could ask for more?
