Whiston Parish Church and Aston Hall, Sheffield | Ashleigh and Thomas’ wedding

I don’t know how I’ve managed it, but it seems the only sunny days we managed to get this July have all happened to be on days when I’ve had a wedding. Ashleigh and Thomas’ was no exception*. So on the third week of July I travelled to South Yorkshire to photograph their wedding. Their ceremony was held at Whiston Parish Church in Rotherham, and the reception followed at Aston Hall Hotel in Sheffield.

I met Ashleigh and her bridal party at her parent’s house for bridal prep. With four bridesmaids, Ashleigh’s brother and her parents getting ready, there was a lot to do. Throw in a couple of photographers, a videographer, make-up and hair people and a dog – we certainly had a busy household!

Soon we were heading to the church. We were asked to refrain from taking photographs of the ceremony itself, but I got some lovely ones of Ashleigh and Thomas coming back down the aisle, and some great group and confetti shots in the church yard.

After the church, everyone made their way over to Aston Hall Hotel for the wedding reception. Everyone was able to enjoy lawn games in the sunshine, and there were cocktails and ice cream for guests to indulge in while we waited for the bride and groom to make their entrance in a camper van.

Before soon, it was time to head into a beautifully decorated marquee for the wedding breakfast and speeches. There were lots of lovely personal details dotted around the marquee and the walkway leading up to it, which fitted perfectly into their rustic theme. The beautiful personalised theme was designed and supplied by Sweetspaces.

Before we knew it, the night do was in full swing. The first dance was followed by a packed dance floor and everyone was having a great time. After a few photos of everyone showing some pretty awesome shapes, I made my exit and let everyone enjoy the rest of the evening.

*This is a lie. Actually it hammered it down by the time everyone sat down for the wedding breakfast, but we were inside by that point, so I’m not counting it. Also it was sunny on one other, non-wedding occasion this month too, a week later for my birthday – yay!
