The Bridge, Wetherby | Saira and Adrian’s wedding

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of attending my first spring wedding of 2017 at The Bridge in Wetherby. It was lovely to return to one of the first wedding venues I shot – and what a gorgeous venue The Bridge is. It dates back to the 17th century, built originally as a coaching inn, but has been completely refurbished in recent years.

I promised my couple, Saira and Adrian, a sunny day and I certainly held up my part of the bargain on that front! It was one of those bizarre March days where it feels more like June (then snows 2 weeks later of course!) The sunny weather suited the dusky pinks and creams of the couple’s colour scheme.

I met Saira and her bridal party at The Bridge as they were all getting ready there. Adrian and the groom’s party got to enjoy some gorgeous morning sunshine over a quick drink before heading indoors to the stunningly beautiful Byron Room, complete with its restored 18th century plasterwork, for the ceremony.

After the ceremony we ventured outside for a few group photographs then we snuck off for a few portraits of the bride and groom, before the wedding breakfast in the Ribston Suite.

Later in the day I was even educated in the art of a ‘dab’ as demonstrated by the younger guests.

For the rest of the day I simply captured from the sidelines, letting Saira and Adrian enjoy it as it happened. I think the photographs tell a better story than my words ever could! Enjoy…
