The Tower House, Halifax | Donna and Charlie’s wedding

My second wedding of September took me over to Sowerby Bridge, Halifax for Donna and Charlie’s wedding at the family run The Tower House Hotel

I met Donna and Charlie earlier this year when they booked me for an engagement shoot. They also booked my customisable photo booth for the evening reception and they decided to decorate it with photos from their engagement shoot – but more on that later.

I joined Donna and her bridal party at the hotel in the morning as they were getting ready there. Donna looked fabulous and I loved the baby blue colour of the bridesmaids’ dresses. They worked really well with the pastel shades of the flowers.

Charlie also made his way to the venue quite early too, I found him was downstairs welcoming their guests. It was nice to be able to bob between the groom and bridal parties.

It was another beautiful late summer’s day, so all the guests were making the most of the warm weather enjoying a drink on the sunny terrace while they waited for the main event!

It was soon time for the ceremony to begin. I went down the ceremony room as their guests made their way to the ceremony room and met a slightly nervous looking Charlie.

Donna walked down the aisle with her son where she met up with her husband-to-very-soon-be.
A really lovely ceremony, in which either party couldn’t stop beaming throughout.

After the I Do’s, we all headed out into the sunshine for the reception drinks where everyone could congratulate the happy couple. We took some groups and portraits photos under the trees, but I didn’t want to prevent everyone’s celebrations, so I took my more informal stance and grabbed more candid type shots than formals.

Before long it was then time to head inside for the wedding breakfast, then later on, the speeches.

After the speeches, the light was really pretty, so we took the opportunity to sneak outside for a few more couples’ portrait photographs before the night do began.

As I mentioned at the top of the blog, Donna and Charlie had also booked my photo booth for the evening. So shortly after the first dance, it was open for business. Being Chelsea FC fans, I painted the bottom half of the booth in blue with stuck on footballs and I framed some photographs taken at their engagement shoot to finish off the top half. Guests had fun with props and frames and were able to download their photographs from a dedicated online gallery. After a couple of hours, I said my goodbyes and made my way home and let everyone enjoy the rest of the night.
