FAQs: What procedures do you have in place to ensure safety in relation to Covid-19?

I want to reassure couples that I am adhering to all current rules and regulations regarding Covid-19. I will be keeping a safe distance during your wedding day and will keep the majority of pre-wedding meetings online or on the phone instead of face to face.

I will wear a face mask, wash my hands regularly and carry hand sanitiser – applying regularly when hand washing is not available.

I will leave my contact details with your venue as required for track and trace, and I will not be in attendance if required to self isolate due to illness or someone I’ve been in close contact with has tested positive. If this is the case, I will attempt to provide suitable cover for your wedding photography. If this is not possible I will refund all monies paid in full.

Group shots

Regarding your group shots, during this time I will discourage groups of more than six or mixing of different households/bubbles. I will however consider a large group shot with sufficient spacing between smaller household/bubble groups if this is possible with your venue.

I wish to state that I am not responsible for ensuring social distancing rules are adhered to by you or any of your guests and other suppliers. My style of photography is mainly documentary so aside from group photos and couples portraits, I do not direct you for photographs. I am able to keep a safe distance from you and your guests.

Lockdown 2.0 and maximum number rules

New changes came in from 28 September 2020 regarding the total number of people in attendance for your big day. Since then a tiered approach came in followed by an England wide lockdown.

From 3 December 2020 it looks like weddings will be allowed to commence once again, however the tiered system means that there are different rules in different areas with regard to receptions. In tier 3 for example, ceremonies can take place but receptions cannot. I will keep up to date on developments and changes as things move on and as we hear more.

Here is what the government website states for those in tier 1 and 2 areas:

“Weddings, civil partnership ceremonies and wedding
receptions are restricted to 15 people. Receptions must be sit down meals. Anyone working is not counted as part of the limit.”

Suppliers, such as photographers, are included in the ‘working people’ bit.

My advice before making any decision is to discuss with your venue/church/registrars/family and friends along with your suppliers so we can all work together and come to a decision in terms of your next steps. In the meantime, here is the link to the government website with further detail. This will hopefully be updated regularly with the ever changing situation.
