Francesca and Simon’s wedding over at Didsbury House Hotel, Manchester was so much fun! It was my first time shooting at this gorgeous boutique hotel but I am no stranger to the area, so I took the opportunity to catch up with some friends over dinner in Didsbury the day before too.
The day was absolutely fantastic with a relaxed, party atmosphere from the get go. Both Francesca and Simon were getting ready at the hotel so I managed to get some photos from bride and groom prep which is always nice to do if time permits.
Once outfits were put on, hair and makeup done, I headed down to The Blue Lounge where their wedding was taking place. A stunning room with large bay window, it is perfect for an intimate ceremony. Francesca and Simon fell in love with Didsbury House Hotel’s style – and the location was handy too because many of their guests were coming from Italy and other parts of the world. “It’s very cosy and simple but stylish at the same time, we were looking for something in Manchester close enough to the airport. 90 per cent of our guests are coming from abroad/ other places in the UK.”
The happy rounded up the formal part of the day with a high five (brilliant) then it was on to celebrating with their guests. Everyone was in high spirits, but sadly the March weather wasn’t kind so all the photos were taken indoors. Not a problem though, we had plenty of gorgeous spaces to play with. Group shots were taken on the hotel’s gorgeous staircase and we then snuck off for a bride and groom shoot that included the use of a couple of bath tubs. I mean is it even a wedding without the incorporation on bathroom fixtures?
After food, followed by speeches on the stairs, it was time for the wedding disco. I don’t think I have ever seen such a full dance floor. It was blooming amazing! The best indie disco, provided by their DJ friend Barto, there were no bums on seats everyone was up having a great time. It was a shame to say goodbye as I left everyone having a blast. What a brilliant day all round.
