In amongst the craziness of 2020, you occasionally get a brilliant moment that makes you forget, just for a little while, about all the bad stuff. One such moment was last Friday for Sarah and Shane’s wedding at Rogerthorpe Manor in Pontefract.
It’s been a while since I shot a wedding of course, so I cannot lie I was a little nervous on the drive over. Silly I know right? But on arrival all was grand. Being Christmas jumper day I was rocking my polar bear jumper and comparing knits with the staff. I was back in my element talking nonsense to anyone who would listen and snapping away like old times.
Sarah and Shane arrived together with their little ‘un in tow. Being in a tier 3 area sadly their day was really cut short. The were only allowed their ceremony followed by braving the cold for some outdoor photos in the hotel grounds.
But it was still a fantastic day, seeing everyone’s smiling faces, happy to be able to catch up – if only from a distance – with loved ones they hadn’t been able to see for some time.
Short, but no less special than the big gatherings we all love, Friday was an opportunity for every person there to forget the past few months and simply enjoy a couple of hours of familiarity and, dare I say it, a slice of the new normal.
Congratulations again to the happy couple, thank you for letting me share your wonderful day.
Here’s a little sneak peak of their gorgeous day…
