My last August wedding of 2018 was Jo and Stuart’s at the beautiful Sandburn Hall in York. It was set to be another gorgeous sunny day, and I couldn’t wait to get started.
I headed over to Jo’s house in the morning for bridal prep where the preparations were in full swing. She doesn’t live too far from the venue, but being a sunny Saturday in the school holidays I thought it best to leave plenty of time to get across to Sandburn Hall in plenty of time. So once Jo had her dress on, I set off.
It was my first wedding at Sandburn, but I had met Jo and Stuart there earlier in the year so knew what to expect. The ceremony room as huge oak framed windows, making it a fantastic open space, with lots of lovely natural light – a photographers dream! The ceremony, wedding breakfast and reception all took place in the same space, with a downstairs bar and sunny patio to use in between.
It was a fantastic day from ending on some pretty snazzy moves on the dance floor. The only downer from my point of view was when I got stung by a wasp – not that I kept going on and on about it though!
My photos will always tell I better story of a wedding day than my words can so here goes!
