The Moorlands Inn, Ogden wedding | Jodie and Leigh

This will be my last wedding blog before Christmas. It really has been a fantastic year, I can’t believe it’s nearly over. I shall be doing a best bits post soon, but I’m not quite done with wedding features yet. Today is about reliving Jodie and Leigh’s wedding at The Moorlands Inn in Ogden near Halifax in September.

I joined Jodie at home where she was getting ready with her sister, who was one of the bridesmaids. As the other bridesmaids and Jodie’s parents were joining her once they were ready, it was very chilled during bridal prep.

Jodie and Leigh were getting married at Bradshaw Parish Church, which was just around the corner from where they lived, so my second shooter John Manktelow and I made our way over to the church ahead of the bridal party.

Leigh was at the church when we arrived at a similar time to the bridesmaids.

The weather wasn’t really on our side on the day sadly, so umbrellas were at the ready for bride and groom and guests alike. Luckily everyone was prepared.

Soon Jodie and her father were pulling up in the wedding camper van, it was time for the I do’s!

After the ceremony we made the short drive over to The Moorlands Inn for the wedding reception. The sun started to peak through as the newly weds pulled up, so we decided to get a few group shots outside before the wedding breakfast. However, we had to be quick, the skies were turning grey.

We managed a few groups outside to the marquee, then decided to dash in for the remaining photos as the heavens really did open.

While the group and portrait shots were being taken, the guests enjoyed a drinks reception before sitting down for the wedding speeches and breakfast. The meal was followed by a spot of live piano music from a couple of the guests.

After the wedding breakfast, there was a break before the first dance and night do began. We might not have seen much of the sun throughout the day but, thanks to the clouds, as it started to set it turned the sky a gorgeous orange and blue colour, so we nipped out for some more couples’ portraits. It was pretty chilly so Jodie and Leigh didn’t stay out for too long, but I couldn’t resist getting a few more photos as the sun went down. I entertained the guests as I ran through the wet grass capture the shots!

Soon though it was time to head inside for the night do guests arrival, followed by the first dance. About half and hour after their first dance, I left everyone to enjoy the rest of the evening.
